National Board Support Program
We support teachers, who drive their own learning, toward the highest standards of teaching and leadership so every student has an effective, reflective, and committed teacher actively ensuring their success.
The SFUSD National Board Support Program provides a variety of learning opportunities and individualized support to candidates pursuing their certification, at no cost. What started with a three year grant has continued to evolve and grow with the financial support of the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD).
SFUSD teachers, librarians, and counselors pursuing advanced certification can find multiple supports: informational meetings, Foundations workshop, a year-long cohort with a trained Professional Learning Facilitator (PLF), Saturday Sessions, and technical support with uploading their portfolio components.
For National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs) and other educators in SFUSD, we offer the National Board Network. This network provides opportunities to engage in professional learning, connect with colleagues throughout the District and find ways to stay involved, informed, and ready to speak up to advance the profession, in service of students.
SFUSD's National Board Support Team (NBSP) is made up of Maria Hunt and Nia Jean Ross. They are National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs). You can reach them at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or concerns.
